Urgent treatment for patients of any GP practice

Our NHS Walk In Service is available for patients of any GP practice who need urgent treatment.

We offer a service to patients who are not registered with our practice, to allow them to be seen by a clinician who can diagnose and treat common ailments without having to wait for their own GP.

8am to 8pm
Sat - Sun
10am to 5pm

Common things that might be treated in this service include:

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Bites and stings
  • Minor scalds and burns
  • Ear and throat infections
  • Skin infections and rashes
  • Eye problems
  • Coughs and colds
  • Feverish illnesses
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting and diarrhoea
  • Emergency contraception
  • Urine infections
  • Minor illnesses in children and young people

There are some things we cannot see in this service. 

  • Fractures
  • Long term management of conditions such as diabetes
  • Immediate life threatening conditions - please call 999 if you need immediate medical help
  • Referrals to hospital
  • Dental work
  • Ear irrigation
  • Sick notes or repeat medication
  • Private letters
  • Pregnancy-related concerns

If you call us regarding one of these issues, you will be asked to speak to your regular GP, or to call 111, or to go to A&E.

Accessing the Walk In Centre

To access our service we ask that you attend the surgery.

We operate on a first come, first served basis. Ringing ahead on 0161 220 6080 is advisable, to check availability before attending.

You do not need to be registered with us to access this service, and the record of your consultation will be sent to your regular GP.
